Questions players ask
How does matching work?
After you have a rating, PopPoint surfaces nearby players at a similar level. You can browse profiles, send match invites, and coordinate times — the goal is fewer dead-end chats and more court time.
Do I need a rating to find people to play?
A quick rally video gets you started. The rating helps matches feel fair, but the app is built around actually organizing hits and meeting other players — not just staring at a number.
How accurate is the AI rating?
The AI tracks your body movement and the ball across every frame, then grades measurable things: rally length, shot depth, placement, footwork, and swing speed. Ratings are continuously calibrated against experienced human reviewers, and every rating shows a confidence level. It's an estimate — but an honest, consistent one.
Is this an official NTRP rating?
No. PopPoint uses an NTRP-style 1.0–5.0+ scale so the numbers are familiar, but it's an independent AI estimate, not an official USTA rating. It's built for one job: matching you with the right players.
How do I film the video?
Landscape mode, from behind the baseline, with the full court in frame. One minute of rallying is enough for your first rating; a 3–5 minute match video unlocks your full level and skill radar. Full filming guide →
What happens to my video?
Your video is used to compute your rating and is visible to you. You can delete your videos from the app at any time, which also removes the analysis.
Is PopPoint on Android?
PopPoint is currently iOS-only. Android is on the roadmap — tell us you want it and we'll let you know when it ships.
