Questions clubs ask
What does a club need to get started?
A short video per player — filmed in landscape from behind the baseline. No cameras to install, no hardware to buy, and no change to how your programs already run.
How accurate is the assessment?
The model tracks body movement and ball trajectory across every frame, then grades measurable features: rally length, shot depth, placement, footwork, and swing speed. It is calibrated against 10+ expert raters across more than 2,300 labeled videos, and currently agrees with coach assessments over 80% of the time. Every profile carries a confidence level.
Does this replace our coaches?
No. It gives coaches a consistent baseline they'd otherwise spend hours producing by hand, so their time goes into instruction rather than evaluation. Coaches can always override a placement.
Is this an official NTRP rating?
No. PopPoint uses an NTRP-style 1.0–5.0+ scale so the numbers feel familiar, but it is an independent AI estimate, not an official USTA rating. It is built for placement and development, not sanctioned play.
Which sports are supported?
Tennis today. The platform is designed to extend across racquet sports, with pickleball and padel next.
What happens to player videos?
Videos are used to compute the player's profile and are visible to that player, who can delete them at any time — which also removes the analysis.
